Colleen Magner

Colleen Magner is Managing Director of the Reos Partners office, Africa, and has worked around the world with clients in the areas including food security, municipal climate adaptation, mining safety, and support for orphans and vulnerable children. Colleen has led multi-stakeholder scenario processes (www.reospartners.com/scenarios) in land reform, food systems, healthcare, insurance (short-term insurance and risk in Southern Africa), municipal climate change adaptation strategies (Saldanha Bay, Western Cape), job creation/local economic development (Eastern Cape, South Africa), and education in Northern Tanzania. Colleen is a part-time faculty member at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (www.gibs.co.za) where she teaches courses on Systems Thinking, Scenario Planning, and Social Entrepreneurship. Colleen has co-authored the book 'Mapping Dialogue: Essential Tools for Social Change; and edited the book 'Dust to Diamonds: Stories of South African Social Entrepreneurs'. Colleen co-founded an international learning network of social entrepreneurs called Pioneers of Change (www.pioneersofchange.net), and also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers at their global headquarters in New York. Colleen graduated from NMU with a dual degree in Law and Economics, and has a Masters degree in Organisational Change and Knowledge Management from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal (cum laude). She has also attended the following executive programmes: “Making Markets Work” and “Teaching the Practice of Management”, both offered by Harvard Business School at GIBS.
